Steps to Connect Your Custom Domain
1. Access Settings:
Click the icon in the top right corner of your admin dashboard to open the dropdown menu. Select 'Settings'.
2. Navigate to the Custom Domain Tab:
Within Settings, click on the 'Custom Domain' tab to start setting up your domain.
3. Enter Your Custom Domain:
Type in the custom domain you wish to use, such as 'invest.MyCompany.com'. This could be a primary domain like 'MyCompany.com' or a subdomain that segments your fundraising activities from your main site.
4. Add DNS Entries or Connect Automatically:
Automatic Connection: If your domain is eligible, you will see a 'Connect Domain' button. Click this button to open a popup from our provider, Entri. Follow the simple steps in the popup to connect your domain without leaving your Fairmint account. This process is quick and requires no manual DNS adjustments.
Manual Connection:
Click the 'See DNS entries' button in Fairmint to obtain the DNS records you need to add.
Log into your domain registrar’s dashboard (like GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Google Domains).
Navigate to the DNS or Domain Management section.
Add the CNAME records specified by Fairmint. If you're unfamiliar with DNS settings, consult your registrar's help center for guidance.
5. Verify Your DNS Entries:
After setting up your DNS entries or completing the automatic connection, return to the DNS setup page on Fairmint and click 'Verify DNS'.
This will check for a successful connection. You will receive a confirmation message once your domain is successfully linked.
Considerations and Tips
Patience Is Essential: DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to propagate fully. If the verification fails initially, please be patient and try verifying again later.
Accuracy is Crucial: Ensure that all DNS entries are entered correctly to avoid any issues with domain connection.
Administrative Access: You'll need administrative access to your domain registrar's dashboard to make these DNS changes, so ensure you have the necessary permissions.
