Step 1: Open the Grant Series Builder
Log in to your Fairmint admin dashboard.
From the left navigation, click + New or select Create Equity Grant.
This will open the grant series creation flow.
Step 2: Configure Your Grant Series Terms
Complete the following fields:
a. Grant Series Name
Give your grant series a clear, descriptive name (e.g., “2025 Employee RSUs”).
b. Equity Type
Select the type of equity compensation you are issuing (e.g., RSUs, options).
c. Vesting Schedule
Choose a vesting schedule that defines when the recipient earns the equity.
d. Signing Method
Choose whether:
Grant agreements are pre-signed by the company (most common), or
The company must sign each grant individually.
Step 3: Upload Required Legal Documents
Upload the legal documents associated with this grant series.
Typically, these include:
Your equity compensation agreement template
Your board-approved equity or stock plan
If you are unsure which documents are required, contact the Fairmint team before proceeding.
Step 4: Build Your Custom Legal Templates
After uploading your documents, you will be prompted to Launch Editor.
Open the editor and navigate to the Documents tab (top left).
Ensure documents are ordered exactly as they should appear to the signer.
Begin adding document variables.
Please refer to the Equity Grant Hellosign Editor Tutorial below to ensure you are building your template with the proper variables.
Important Variable Rules
Create all variables in Sender View
Only signature variables should be added in Investor View
Before saving:
Confirm all variables fit correctly within the document layout
Ensure text is properly aligned
Click Preview to verify all variables are visible and correct.
Click Save Template before exiting the editor.
Step 5: Finalize Your Grant Series
After saving your templates, allow time for documents to process.
Click Preview to review the final agreement exactly as grantees will see it.
If everything looks correct, click Publish.
The Fairmint team will perform a final review before the grant series goes live.
Result
Once published, your grant series is ready to issue.
You can begin sending invitation links to recipients to review and sign their equity grants.
